How
to
get
your
licence
back
after
being
disqualified
When
your
disqualification
period
is
over,
the
Driver
and
Vehicle
Licensing
Agency
(DVLA),
will
automatically
send
to
you
the
necessary
application
forms
to
re-apply
for
the
return
of
your
driving
licence.
This
will
also
remove
any
expired
endorsements
that
have
been
on
your
licence.
Applying
for
your
driving
licence
after
your
disqualification
has
ended
If
you
are
a
paper
driving
licence
holder
you
will
be
automatically
sent
a
D27
and
D750
reminder
application
forms,
56
days
before
the
period
of
disqualification
ends.
You
must
complete
these
application
forms
ensuring
that
all
the
relevant
questions
are
answered.
You
will
need
to
enclose
original
documentation
confirming
your
identity,
a
passport
style
colour
photograph
and
enclose
the
appropriate
fee.
If
you
are
a
photocard
driving
licence
holder
you
will
only
be
sent
a
D27
application
form,
56
days
before
the
period
of
disqualification
ends.
You
must
complete
the
D27
application
form
ensuring
that
all
the
relevant
questions
are
answered
and
return
it
with
the
appropriate
fee.
There
will
be
no
need
to
enclose
any
identification
or
photograph.

If,
however, your name has changed since your last licence
was issued you must complete the D1 application form
(available from most Post OfficeŽ branches), along
with the D27. You must also enclose original documentation
confirming your change of name and the appropriate
fee. There is no need to supply a new photograph.
What
to do if your forms are not received
If,
for any reason, you do not receive the reminder application
forms to apply for your driving licence, you can use
the D1 application form, which is available from DVLA
form ordering service, and Post OfficeŽ branches.
Where to send your completed application forms
Send
your completed application with your paper driving licence
or photocard driving licence with the D740 paper counterpart
to DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AB or you may be able to use the Post
OfficeŽ checking service.
DVLA
aim to deliver your driving licence to you within three weeks
of receiving your application. It might take longer if we
have to check on your health or personal details. You will
need to wait for your new licence to be issued before driving.
Please allow at least three weeks for your licence to arrive
before contacting DVLA.
Medical
enquiries
The
DVLA will make medical enquiries if you have:
- been
disqualified for driving, or being in charge of a vehicle,
when the level of alcohol in the body equalled or exceeded:
i)
87.5 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, or
ii)
200 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood, or
iii)
267.5 milligrams per 100 millilitres of urine
- two
disqualifications within the space of 10 years for drinking
and driving, or being in charge of a vehicle whilst
unfit through drink
- one
disqualification for refusing or failing to supply a
specimen for analysis
