How
to get your licence back after being disqualified
When
your disqualification period is over, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency
(DVLA), will automatically send to you the necessary application forms to re-apply
for the return of your driving licence. This will also remove any expired endorsements
that have been on your licence. Applying
for your driving licence after your disqualification has endedIf you are
a paper driving licence holder you will be automatically sent a D27 and D750 reminder
application forms, 56 days before the period of disqualification ends. You must
complete these application forms ensuring that all the relevant questions are
answered. You will need to enclose original documentation confirming your identity,
a passport style colour photograph and enclose the appropriate fee. If you are
a photocard driving licence holder you will only be sent a D27 application form,
56 days before the period of disqualification ends. You must complete the D27
application form ensuring that all the relevant questions are answered and return
it with the appropriate fee. There will be no need to enclose any identification
or photograph. If,
however, your name has changed since your last licence was issued you must complete
the D1 application form (available from most Post Office® branches), along with
the D27. You must also enclose original documentation confirming your change of
name and the appropriate fee. There is no need to supply a new photograph. What
to do if your forms are not received If, for any
reason, you do not receive the reminder application forms to apply for your driving
licence, you can use the D1 application form, which is available from DVLA form
ordering service, and Post Office® branches.
